guest Speaker library

We've had some pretty excellent speakers here at Woodside, and it occurs to us that you may want to listen again. We'll start building a library here, as often as we remember and get permission to post.

November, 2017, we established a preaching series, Let Those With Ears, inviting Preachers of Color to come and help us listen in a new way. With their permission, here are their sermons in mp3 format.

Aug 5, 2018. Rev. Justo Gonzales II, Michigan Conference UCC SW Area Minister & Coordinator for Latinx Ministries, and leader of Rios de Agua Viva UCC, Grand Rapids.

July 28, 2018. Rev. Mariama White-Hammond, Pastor of a New Church Start in Boston, MA, under the auspices of the AME Church.

Jan 28, 2017. Rev. Wendell Griffen, Pastor of New Millennium Baptist Church, Little Rock, AR, and Judge in Arkansas' 6th Judicial Circuit.

Dec 17, 2017. Rev. Phiwa Langeni, founder/director of the Salus Center (safe space for LGBTQ seekers) of Lansing, MI.

Nov 19, 2017. Rev Mia Douglas, Director of Discipleship, Asylum Hill Congregational Church of Hartford, CT.

July 2017, we had Sunday morning "Coffeehouse Chapel," and pondered meaningful phrases from our mission statement:

"Woodside is a progressive Christian community,
nurturing faith, honesty and diversity,
where members and friends
live Jesus' way of social justice."
Each segment was hosted by Chris Szumowicz, Wildroot barista and Woodside sometimes-preacher. The intro to that series is here:
